IS BLACK WATER REALLY THAT GOOD? OR IS ANOTHER MEME MATERIAL
Hello and welcome to los pous hermanos, ah ah that's some future talks but for now welcome to
“The Brew Blog” by your friendly “The Curious Caffeinated Guy” and during this series of blogs I'll try to elaborate or
probably elaborate on some different topics that we ought not to discuss.
Have you ever noticed recently that there exists this special type of water, popular among
celebrities and influencers nowadays “black water”.Yes, I am talking about this strange black
liquid that they are carrying everywhere. It catches all the eyes but when I saw it I was baffled
that what in the world is this? And most of us would be on the same wavelength on this, what is
this?
WHAT IS ‘BLACK WATER?’
To summarize it in one line, black water is basically highly alkaline water(PH level 7<).
Going deep, this water is infused with more or less 70 added minerals to give it high nutritional value when compared to normal water that we drink everyday. It contains essential minerals, such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, potassium, and fulvic minerals. The fulvic mineral is Fulvic acid which is high in important minerals and trace elements like calcium, potassium, and magnesium, this acid is well-liked by health enthusiasts who want to incorporate additional nutritional benefits into their daily hydration routine.Add to that Fulvic acid also gives it the dark or black color.
It is for these added nutritional values it has become popular among influencers and hence getting all the headlines.
Well that’s been it
Thanks a lot for your time

Well that's most of the introduction that I can give you, so here's what we are discussing today
IS BLACK WATER REALLY THAT GOOD?
Here’s a quick reading that answers most of your questions, probably!!

The popular choice among people is EVOCUS black water, but it is not the only one available in
the market. Several other choices are being stacked in the shelves of grocery stores. The list
includes the likes of Vaidya Rishi Black Water,Alkua Alkaline Ionized Water,Booster Black
H2O, Blk Alkaline Water, etc. Everything else aside, one thing that is common among the brands
is that they are all on the pricier side of the coin. This special water ranges usually upwards of
RS.500 for 500ml and goes all the way to RS.3000(it is a pack of 12, but still takes a breath
man!)
MINERAL COMPOSITION
This section mostly discusses the nutritional value of black water. To make your and mine life easier I'll compare this with regular water aka ‘Ghar ka pani’.

You see, the regular RO water that most of us consume is in some sense acidic in nature or one
can say less alkaline. Consumption of this water leads to an increase in acidic content in our
body resulting in problems like acidity, etc. Most of the RO lower down the pH value of the water
we drink, making it acidic, corrosive, bitter in taste, which is hard for the body to absorb. This is
where black water leads the race, because of its alkaline nature, it solves this problem and
becomes the favorable out of the two. Alkaline water is one of the significant steps that one can
take towards boosting the immune system. However some experts advise against relying too
much on alkaline water because the body naturally balances its pH levels. Instead of depending
only on alkaline water to provide health benefits, they recommend leading a balanced lifestyle
and consuming a balanced diet.
PROS OF CONSUMING BLACK WATER
Well the mineral composition and a direct difference to regular water won't give you a solid idea
of how to perceive black water. Here are some of the top benefits of black water, that to be very
honest surprised me also.
- Hydration: Black water aids in reducing blood viscosity, preventing dehydration post-exercise more effectively than regular water due to its added minerals and vitamins.
- Metabolism Boost: The mineral combination in black water enhances metabolism, beneficial for weight loss and fitness enthusiasts, especially athletes, promoting increased energy levels and overall fitness.
- Diabetes Management: Studies indicate that black water can lower blood sugar levels and HbA1c levels, a crucial marker for diabetes, potentially offering benefits for individuals with diabetes.
- Acid Reflux Management: The elevated pH of black water helps manage acid reflux by reducing enzyme activity responsible for acid reflux and neutralizing excessive acid levels, thereby alleviating hyperacidity issues.
- Indigestion Relief: Black water aids in quicker and more effective toxin removal from the body, addressing indigestion concerns by preventing gastric acid secretion and tackling acidity, a common cause of indigestion.
- Skin Health Improvement: Regular consumption of black water contributes to smoother, clearer skin by eliminating toxins, improving hydration, and providing essential minerals and vitamins, making it popular among celebrities and beneficial for acne management.
SIDE EFFECTS OF THE SAME
It's not all bells and whistles when it comes to the story of black water. Humans are habitual of devouring anything beneficial beyond their limits. Not only this, we often tend to ignore the negative effects of the influence of our cravings. Though many studies demonstrate the benefits of alkaline water, there is still a lack of data. Following are some of the side effects you should consider before consuming it.

Following are some of the side effects you should consider before consuming it.
- Excessive alkalinity poses health risks: The body naturally maintains a pH balance, ranging from slightly acidic to slightly alkaline. Disruption of this balance can result in health issues.
- Potential for metabolic alkalosis: Consuming too much alkaline water can shift the body's pH balance towards alkalinity, leading to a condition known as alkalosis. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, muscle twitching, hand tremors, and confusion.
- Medication interference: Alkaline water consumption can interfere with the body's ability to metabolize certain medications. This interference may affect the breakdown of medicines into smaller molecules, hindering their effective elimination from the body.
- Concerns for kidney health: Individuals with kidney problems should be cautious about consuming alkaline water due to potential risks. Insufficient filtration of added minerals may lead to their accumulation in the body, exacerbating kidney issues.
- Fibrosis implications: Research, such as a 1998 study on rats, suggests a possible link between prolonged intake of ionized water and fibrosis development. While further investigation is needed, this finding underscores the importance of cautious consumption.
HOW ARE PEOPLE PERCEIVING IT?
See, most of us live in a world of comment sections, a harsh truth to digest but it is what it is. From what I researched online and the videos I saw there are two sides to this. People who take their health as their top priority and basically have built a lifestyle around their health have become a PRO for it, up to a level that they may have replaced normal water with black water in most of their diet. And for people like us it's nothing more than fancy bottled water, even after the benefits I counted above. You can in fact read comments or watch videos about people reacting to it and they all, very firmly treat it more like a Meme Material or one can say “Ameeron ke Chochle”.
Personally, not being biased, I see it as more of a gimmick. I understand its added benefits but its not really too much of a difference when compared to regular water. If you actually care for these benefits just drink more regular water and it might solve all of your problems especially the skin ones! HAHA! Drinking more water actually improves your skin(personal opinion). But if you are that fancy person who actually wants the latest and greatest, go for it, I'm not the one to judge you.
Listen, this may be good for you or maybe not, who knows. But, I advise you to first consult your doctor before you indulge it in your main diet.
