OVERCOMING OVERTHINKING

Image
“We often suffer more in our imagination, than in reality.” - Marcus Aurelius This is a safe space and I am with you, beside you and for you. You know that feeling when you're just staring up at your room ceiling at 3 AM? Your mind's running a marathon, maybe rehashing an old conversation and thinking, "Ugh, why didn't I say that instead?" Or maybe it's just zipping through a million different worries every second. If that sounds familiar, well, welcome to the overthinker's club! It's an exclusive little group. I'm definitely a card-carrying member, too, so no judgment here. Honestly, being a "professional overthinker" sounds kind of intense, but it's usually not a huge deal unless it starts seriously messing with your ability to tell what's real, or if it really begins to tank your self-confidence and how you interact with people. Still, you have to wonder why we put ourselves through all this mental gymnastics. It makes you thin...

WHY LIFE FEELS SO MONOTONOUS?

Image
Imagine the beeps of your alarm you hear every morning, the same commute you take every day for your work, the same colleagues, the same dusk every evening, the same type of dinner, and the same YouTube feed. Kinda relatable? I believe most of us have had this feeling of being disjointed and thinking of how boring or in Shashi Tharoor's vocabulary a monotonous life you are living! I certainly have felt it for a long period especially when there's not so much I look forward to in college(Yes, I'm still there😑). It becomes even more unvarying that you might have identified this feeling. Still, you are feeling helpless in doing anything in this matter. What is the core problem? Let me tell you that feeling monotonous is not wrong, everybody around you might have had the same feeling of life tasting more like a vanilla ice cream. Feeling guilty about not having an exciting life is flawed. This might make you feel a bit disappointed but you have to accept this and acceptance of...

The Story of Blinders

The other day, I had my high tea at a tea stall near my institute, quite good for a hangout place. A few people marched in, ordered their snacks, and started chitchatting. I overheard their conversation, for it was the most interesting topic, “Politics”. Now this chit-chatting soon turned into a heated argument. What I gathered from that conversation is that most of them presented an argument not for the political leaders or party that has helped them, but for the party they have blind faith in, even if the said leaders did no good to them. This blind belief or in popular terms “Andh-Bhakti” is a phenomenon that has caught most of us off guard, yes we are unaware of it. These people are called so because of their unwavering belief or blind allegiance towards religious figures, political leaders, ideologies, etc. “Andh Bhakti”, often used in a negative context, suggests a lack of rationality and unwillingness to consider alternative viewpoints. HOW HAVE THEY REACHED AT THIS REALM? Let m...

Why men find it hard to open up?

Image
You are safe and I am with you. Happy Men's Mental Awareness Month (I know it was in June) to all the men out there, I hope you are happy, healthy, and honoured, this one's for you. Fair enough to say June has been quite good for mental stability, especially for Indian Cricket Fans The main reason for writing on this topic is because I have been lately observing and feeling that men are so afraid to open up. They’ll pass the gravest of the situation known to mankind with a smile on their face. This reluctance to open up, rooted in societal expectations and gender norms, leaves a profound impact on men’s mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. Understanding the complex factors contributing to this challenge is the first step towards embracing a culture that empowers men to be more open and emotionally expressive. Well then, here you go! WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT FOR US? Non Masculine  See, men struggle to open up about their emotions because of society’s expectations,...

Why do we hate other's success?

Image
Everybody wants to succeed in life. For some, success means achieving whatever they desire or dream. For many, it is the name, fame and social position. Whatever be the meaning of success, it is success that makes a person popular. I think fame or popularity is what most of us use as a Unit to define success. However we often forget about the cost of being successful. I'm not talking about owning a G-Wagon here. I am talking about the unreal hate that most successful people or celebrities face, be it over the internet(twitter iykyk) or being abused in public. We have seen tons of videos of them being treated in a certain manner, being hated for no reason or maybe a very personal reason. I don’t know. I can easily recall conversations I had with people around me discussing that ‘Falana is there for nepotism, he was nothing, his luck worked out’. The question here is why does this unreal amount of hate exist among us? Why do we envy the success of others? And I am not just talking ab...

Another Goodbye!

You know they say “Goodbyes are Hard!" Herein I Am talking about the hard part of it. Goodbyes are hard, yes they are. See, the subject of this statement is not goodbyes, it's the ‘Hard part.’ This is so different for everyone, unlike goodbyes which are probably easy. For the latter one, you just gotta wave at the opposite person, ‘smiling most important’, whilst they are leaving. It's what you feel afterwards that makes you feel a bag full of emotions. And over the years, as we grow older and wiser, not everyone is included in this list(See, I got you this time!). Most of us have had plenty of goodbye experiences until now and some of them have brought tears to our eyes. But one which hits the hardest, for me personally, is when you leave your home for the very first time ever to move out. I swear it was the hardest. It's been around 2 years since I left my home, my hometown and moved to another city for college and everytime I come back home I can fairly recall that ...

Image
Hello and welcome to los pous hermanos , ah ah that's some future talks but for now welcome to “The Brew Blog” by your friendly “The Curious Caffeinated Guy” and during this series of blogs I'll try to elaborate or probably elaborate on some different topics that we ought not to discuss.  Well that's most of the introduction that I can give you, so here's what we are discussing today IS BLACK WATER REALLY THAT GOOD?   Have you ever noticed recently that there exists this special type of water, popular among celebrities and influencers nowadays “black water”.Yes, I am talking about this strange black liquid that they are carrying everywhere. It catches all the eyes but when I saw it I was baffled that what in the world is this? And most of us would be on the same wavelength on this, what is this?  Here’s a quick reading that answers most of your questions, probably!!  WHAT IS ‘BLACK WATER?’  To summarize it in one line, black water is basically highly alkaline wa...
